With online sources at our fingertips, news comes straight to us at the touch of a button or the swipe of a finger. Often times however that news is negative and it can leave us thinking there is no hope for our country our world or our future. At the same time we have access to positive news through sources like Liftable.com.
Acts of service, of love, of selflessness, are uploaded and shared on social media every day. For some, it’s a light at the end of a dark tunnel of negativity and harsh circumstances.
It’s one thing to see and share videos and another to experience it firsthand. Tyson Crawly had one such experience when he realized he couldn’t pay his bill at the local gas station.
“I tried using one that had a joint account to it but I could not for the life of me remember my PIN number! After searching through my iPhone bank app to figure out how to reset my pin I had failed. My dog was barking wildly, I had to get to work, and I was starting to freak.”
We have all been there at some point in our lives but probably not to the total of $109.91. Imagine what was going through Tyson’s mind at that point.
That’s when a stranger walked up from behind him and said, “Do you need some money?” the man swiped his card and paid his entire bill. Tyson was shocked to say the least and offered to pay the man back if he would just give him, his number. He took the receipt and wrote on the back, folded it and after taking a photo with Tyson the man walked out of the station and was simply gone.
When Tyson opened the receipt, it didn’t have a number on it but it read, John, Pass it on.
